Since 1999, I've found a groove as a volunteer jazz radio broadcaster on public stations in the Baltimore Washington area. This opportunity

has provided me a public forum to celebrate and define the significance of Black Classical music and enabled collaboration with others to produce/promote concerts and thematic programs (e.g. participation on a panel discussing the life of Horace Tapscott and a program focusing exclusively on the artistry of Prince Lasha). Music has consistently been one of life's most fruitful overtones. Its light and energy are sources of my strength. Great varieties of music at home from birth and in the NYC community through adolescence, made me the product of a music-rich environment. My Father (a musician and teacher) encouraged practice with many instruments but most importantly taught active listening. I draw heavily on my gift of purposeful exposure to the beauty of music's many genres to design programs I independently produce today. The dominant theme informing most of these programs is the state of relative obscurity through which too many creative geniuses live their lives (particularly those embracing and projecting the art form, often at the expense of their personal commercial success). I actively seek venues and work situations where musician's contributions are publicly appreciated and rewarded monetarily.
